Manteca: My Inspiration

So I my wife and I went back to Manteca and I saw some things that I had to draw.  Here are a few of them:

The Weird, The Odd, and The Useless

So while reading some comic books (graphic novels, whatever you want to call them) I started thinking about some lame superheroes I've seen/know about.  I decided that the rest of the world should see them, just through the scope of my art.  Here it is:

"You didn't change that."

So I recently had an opportunity to do a political cartoon and have it published.  The offer was given to me by a friend of mind who had an idea for one, and he asked me to draw it for him.  I figured commissioned stuff is fun to do and I had better get used to it anyway.  It was put on the website for Utah largest newspaper (here's the link for now--not sure when it will be taken off: http://www.deseretnews.com/opinion/cartoons ) and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be published in the physical newspaper.  So just remember, this is not necessarily my view, just my art.  Enjoy!

"Always Funny" Finished

So I finished this, and Ashley started talking about Salvador Dali and calling my stuff "surrealist."  At first I thought it was weird, I felt like surrealist artists were easily labelled as crazy loons; I've always felt like my chemical balances were correct--and I still think they are.  But the more I looked at I thought, "That's definitely not realism."  So here it is--oh, by the way, the little green monster's name is Murphy.
