Zangief and Mother Russia.

Zangief is definitely one of my favorite video game characters of all time, just not totally sure where he is on the list yet.  Top 10, maybe 5.

Ninja Monkey

There's really nothing more to say.  Death Kwon Do.

Sharks Don't Sleep

Thanks for the inspiration, Shark Week!

Scenes From The Gym

I have found two reasons for going to the gym, 1. the obvious, to work out and 2. look at some of the goofy people there.  Like this guy:

Boba Fett

Seeing as I drew a Stormtrooper yesterday, it was only a matter of time before this happened.

Captain James Hook

A man so quick, he's even fast asleep.

Stormtrooper

So when I work digitally or on paper, I sketch first, then refine.  In this instance I was working digitally, and upon finishing, I decided I would keep the "sketchy" feel.  This was incredibly fun.  Taking uniforms like Stormtroopers and manipulating them is super entertaining.  Might have to do this more.  Their shoes or whatever you want to call them look like female dress shoes.

Something I Thought Up

So I made this guy up.  I like his design, I think I'll stick with it, to a bit more with it.  Feedback welcome.  Enjoy!

Mr. Noodle

Every time I watch Sesame Street with my daughter I walk away thinking, "Geez Mr. Noodle, how old are you?"  I also can't help but feeling sorry for Elmo, seeing as the only people at his dispense for answering questions are babies, his goldfish Dorothy, and--you guessed it--Mr. Noodle.  Even the most menial task becomes the most difficult problem.  Yeah, Mr. Noodle, sit backwards on the bike.  That makes sense.

Just to clarify, I'm completely joking.

Whose footprints are these?!

They still don't get it.  I used my own font for my signature.  I think that may be my thing from here on out.  Maybe.

The Sartorialist

So whether or not you have heard of this person, he or she goes by the Sartorialist and he or she takes picture of people dressed mostly in ridiculous manner.  The site is evidence that we have gone horribly wrong  somewhere as a people.  Any way, I did a few color backgrounds with this one, I think the salmon looks best, though.  See what you think.  And I didn't put in shadows to help highlight how ridiculous this man looks.

Edit: Just found out the Sartorialist is a dude.

Phil Jackson

No matter what anyone says or shows me, this is how I imagine Phil Jackson at all times when he played for the Knickerbockers.

A bit more nostalgic.  Kna' mean?

Zombie Killers

Two friends and I are going to see World War Z and then play zombies on Black Ops 2 on Saturday.  I'm really pumped.  Really really pumped.  So I drew these.

Rock out

Inspired by many blogs and drawings I've been doing lately, I really like this one.  A LOT.

The Joker

Probably not the "Joker" you would think of first, but Steve Miller is still pretty awesome.

YOOOOGA!!!

So, I paid homage to Street Fighter 2 yet again, this time with my favorite character--Zangief.  He's a 7' Russian, who doesn't like that?  Any way, the art I did is Zangief and Dhalsim, the background is the actual stage from the Super Nintendo game I pulled off the internet.  Oh yes, they are each saying, "Have some!" in their respective languages, Russian and Hindi (assuming Dhalsim speaks Hindi, I couldn't find any conclusive evidence for or against it).

SHOOORYUKEN!!!

I 've been toying around with this idea for a while now, placing caricatures of Street Fighter 2 characters on the 16-bit backgrounds from the game.  I like the way it came out, kind of funny.

Cro-Magnon Son

This started as a doodle (as many finished drawings do) of just the guy on the left.    The rest just sort of happened.  I like the subject of little kids and how innocent and carefree they are, it's kind of awesome.

Rock Climber. Finished.

Put in the last detail; small but I like it more this way..  Inspired by my cousin Morgan.  Enjoy!

Reunion Flier

So my wife's family wanted to do a flier for an upcoming family reunion.  I like the way it came out, although the reason behind the drawing was never found out.

The last of of my "I Hate Snow" period.  Well, for the past winter--it may pop up again in the future.

Butch and Sundance

I'm not sure why I never posted this, I've had it for a few weeks now.  Enjoy!

Raphael

So I started playing around with clipping masks in Photoshop and the textures just kept coming.  I was just doing it messing around and then I end it up kind of liking it after the light and background were put in.  Enjoy!

HELP! MONSTERS!

So I'm going to enter a t-shirt design contest and it's all about monsters.  What I need your help with is deciding which one to submit.  My main concerns are character design, line work, and color.  If you could just let me know which of the four you like best that would help a ton!  Thanks!

More Snow

So at my job I shovel snow whenever it sticks to the walkways.  This is winter I have had to do it quite a bit and it gets tiring very fast.  It seems that every time the snow finally melts off of the parking lot and walkways we get more snow.  It looks like this weekend will be the same.  I drew this picture as a representation of the conflict that is going on inside me since I heard the news.  What's the point of shoveling?  It's just going to come back anyway.  Useless.

And, for you own enjoyment, here's a version with a paint filter on it.  Enjoy!

Caught: 50 Bucks

So I recently found out that throwing snowballs in Provo can be penalized by law--fifty bucks.  Good thing I haven't seen any cops lately, because I would be rolling in the DEBT.  Anyway, upon hearing this, I was instantly inspired to draw this piece of work.  I did it in one day, spanning from about 1:30-9:00 with a large break while watching the little one.  Lots of fun and I feel the characters are quite enjoyable.  I also read about other crazy laws in Utah but they seemed akin to child labor laws--silly and outdated.  Enjoy!
